Karolina Sörman has a Master’s degree in neurosciences from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She received her PhD in 2015 from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. During her time as PhD student, she was a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University in professor John Eden’s research group. After doing a postdoc at Karolinska Institutet focusing on researching callous-unemotional traits in youth, she has worked as Head of Unit Continuing Education at the Centre for Psychiatry Research. Dr. Karolina Sörman’s main research interest is studying psychopathic traits in adults and youths in different contexts, criminal and non-criminal. Together with professor Marianne Kristiansson, she has written a popular scientific book about psychopathy and psychopathic traits with a focus on risk-and “successful behaviors”, as well as youth- and community aspects and consequences of psychopathic traits. Karolina teaches regularly on psychopathic traits, both within academia and for the wider public. She has a genuine interest in creating public awareness on psychopathic traits.
